Glorious

Love me
Love your heart
Hear my name and see your beauty
I have developed you and I know you by name
I call out to you and you come
No mistakes made or known
All washed clean
No more tears through this pain because I bring joy
Life brings the challenges but you come to me
My love is deeper and wider than any other love
I know your name and I see you
Yes, I see you
I see all that you do and all that I have cared for
I have seen you at your worst and at your best
But you must know you weren't meant for perfection
You were just meant for my purpose and will
Your will on this earth is much greater than ever imaginable
Trust and you will find
Seek and you will know
This is my name
Glorious

You Know My Name

I hear sweet whispers in my ear
I know that it is you who is speaking
You speak so gentle, comb, and still
Anyone who hears will know your name
You are my refuge and my strength
I take hope in you
I grip onto you when I feel myself pulling away
I do not mean to pull away but this world is full of so much filth
Why is that so appealing to us humans?
What truly do we get out of our sins?
They feel good in the moment but leave us empty
It leads us asking question and going back to more
I want to go back for more of you, Jesus
You should be my number one priority
But sometimes that is not case
Sometimes I rather perish then sin against you
My actions are not always healthy
My voice is not always used for good
I pray that I will respect and honor you daily
I pray for my brothers and sisters
That they would come to the light and know your name
To know your name is to know my purpose
You pour into my life
You reign joy, peace, and refuge over me
I will stand firm
Though I walk through these unfamiliar places I am not alone
I know that you are near
You hold me tight
You know my name
Bless your holy name upon my life
All who know you will take joy

No Matter What

So dry
So deep
Nothing fills the soul as you do
I feel so far from this world
Maybe that's a good thing
What the worlds wants for me
Is the opposite of what you're calling me to be
You call grace, compassion, and love
My soul cries for you
I want to know you more
I long to know you more
I may mess up and call the wrong name
But I will not enclose anyone else to be my God
Only you and will be the God that forever reigns
You reign in the most heavenly high places
You seem to amaze me more then I've ever known
You dry my tears as they hit the ground
Some days I want to run and hide
Some days I just want to sing praises to you
Some days I just want to give up
But no matter what
 I want you
No matter what day it is you are there
No matter what I am feeling you have felt
No matter what I am tempted with
You have been tempted yourself
You have with stood from the worldly ways
I myself, will do my best
I will do my best to honor and cherish you
You are my God and I will forever love you
No matter how long these trials last
I know you will be here till the very end
I will fight all of my days through you
You are my reason to breathe
You breath life into me
And I breathe it out unto those around me
Take it all and I will have more of you

What Do You See?

When you look in the mirror what are you seeing? Most importantly what are you choosing to see? I was looking in the mirror the other day struggling to see the good; when all of the sudden I heard God say 'You can choose to see a broken girl or a restored girl. You have the option, but you are choosing to see the bad one', I hated to realize it in the moment but He was right. I have been choosing to see the girl I use to be when I look in mirror, when God has restored me. I think it so easy to get caught up in our past that in some ways it still controls us. It is good to remember where we've come from because it keeps us humble; it reminds us of what God can do.
I know that it is struggle to let go of the things that have caused you a great deal of pain, but if it is becoming something you can't let go of, I encourage you to seek the help you need. We cannot fight these battles on our own. All of us having growing and maturing to do - whether we own up to it or not.
So today as you start your day or end your day, look at things the positive way. See that there truly is a light that is coming. God will not give you more then you can bare. Hold tight and know He is God! I hope you are encouraged by Him as much as He encourages me! He is our strength.

No Longer Depending

Relationships can be a difficult thing and such an exciting thing. I have learned over the years what to do and not to do. All though I wish for every relationship to be perfect, it is impossible. We get hurt by the people we love the most. Why is that? I think we often get hurt by the people we confine in the most because we give pieces of our heart away. We are human. Lets face it, we all have hurt someone we know. It is just our nature. Therefore when we choose to put everything we have into one person we get let down and feel useless.
I have learned over the years to not put my dependency in people. Even though it seems to be the easiest thing to do. I have begun putting all my dependency into the Lord and I no longer feel let down. Granted there are times when I do but it isn't nearly as bad because I haven't depended on that person to meet my needs; make me happy. God is truly the only one who can complete us and make us satisfied. We were created to worship a God. That is why nothing else satisfies but Jesus. We are created for Him.
I encourage you to begin to put all that you have into Jesus and watch Him fill up your heart over time. You will be amazed with what it will and can do for you. You won't feel the need to find acceptance and love from others. People and things of this world only have the power over us that we give it. Break free and allow God to heal those broken areas. We all deserve to be loved but find the love that you truly desire. You will only find it from the Lord. No matter what you choose, God is here, and He loves you.

Crying Doesn't Make You Weak

For some reason as human beings we think we must hold it all together. It comes off weak if we shed a tear or say we're struggling, but the truth is that isn't weak. The media tells us we have to hold it together. We have to be strong every second. As humans that's impossible. We all hit a breaking point. We get to the point we don't care if people know we're hurting because the pain is so deep, and nothing tends to make it better. In this lifetime, we many times turn to the ways of the world to take the pain away. I know I have talked about this before, but it is important to know your self worth.
It is okay to struggle and have your ups and downs. What you do in those times is what matters. What do you turn to in a time of need? What do you turn to, to make you satisfied? We must turn to the Lord or we will forever me lost in our pain. Just because you choose Christ doesn't mean you aren't ever going to have a horrible day or a break down. It's the exact opposite. By giving your life over to Christ you tend to struggle more and face more difficulties. Only because you know the battle and you know what you are conquering by choosing to have faith.
The next time you feel like you are falling apart take a hold of the hand of God. He will pull you up out of the pit of destruction and give you a new name. He understands your hurt and has faced it all. That is the beauty of Christ. He has faced all and has not failed. Remember what Christ has done. He will bring healing in his timing, not yours! God knows what we need and what we can handle; when we can and can't handle it. God is good - rejoice in that!

In His Hands

What kind of season are you going through right now? Is it dry, full, empty, satisfying, or wonderful? Each day brings something new. I think it is important to embrace each day that you live because the truth is you don't know what tomorrow brings. We aren't suppose to know because that is the beauty of God. He blesses us through our suffering. No matter what today has brought or what tomorrow will bring, God remains the same! God is the same today, tomorrow, and forever! I think it is important to rejoice in our sufferings because it is so easy to be struck down by this world. I have been going through a lot in my life and I have had to choose to dwell in pain or choose to trust God. I have chosen to make the most of my suffering. I know that I may not know why things happen but I do know that God is holding me tight. He isn't letting go. I am very grateful for that! So remember the next time you are faced with difficulty and everyone lets you down; God is here.

You Are Beautiful

Society today is filled with lies and high expectations. Expectations a human can't obviously live up to. They set it up so we always have to have something new and something more. Nothing is never good enough. Nothing ever satisfies you because you are constantly looking for the world's approval. We will never be fully accepted in this world for how we are naturally created because it isn't perfect, but in reality no one is perfect. No one is set up to live to those expectations.
Look around and you will see so many women pulling themselves apart to look a certain way. We all strive to look like that model in the magazine, to be a size zero, have the job, the guy, and the life. This just creates us to only fall flat on our faces and become completely beaten down.
By seeking approval of others we only become disappointed. We look in the mirror and see no beauty because we are too busy comparing to what someone else has. This has been a huge struggle and a huge growing experience for myself. I struggle a lot of what people think of me, what I look like, and how much I weigh. I think as women living into today's society you will feel that. You feel the pressure to feel beautiful and to be that number on the scale, but in reality we are already created beautiful. We just haven't been able to see it, embrace it, or be thankful for it. I many times get too caught up in what I need to be then instead of who I am suppose to be.
God has created each one of us fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139). We are the apple to His eye. Nothing can change the way God views us and sees our beauty. I may not be a model and I may be considered 'ugly' to today's society but that doesn't mean I am ugly. Samuel in the bible struggled with his appearance. God said that man looks at the outward appearance but I looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). God sees us for who we are; His beautiful creation.
So the next time you are looking in the mirror and cannot see your beauty for what it truly is, remember what God says. Go back to the bible, write it on your mirror, and speak life over you. The truth is you may never be a size zero or whatever size but you just have to learn to accept what God has given you. Learn to embrace who you are and what you look like. If that means having to tell yourself over and over on a daily basis you are beautiful, then do it! Remind yourself you are defined through God and nothing else. He calls you His beautiful child. Embrace your beauty!

What is Serving?

Acts 20:35 -
'In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.' We are told continually in the bible to be servants of Christ and to help those in need. But what does that look like?
In my past I use to do a lot people watching, especially Christians. The church was so big on going to different states and sometimes countries to preach the word. I always thought that was wonderful but what about the hurting people right here, at there church? Yes, I was going to church and hearing the word but I was suffering, and I did not understand why people couldn't reach out to me. People were but it wasn't in the same sense.
I have been learning a lot about what serving means to do. It doesn't mean you are going to Africa but right next store to a neighbor, to a friend, to a family member, or to someone sitting on the street. I feel as if we strive to be missionaries all around the world but we fail to look around our home town. There are so many hurting people. I have made it my passion to serve the people in my life and the people I come into contact with. For me I feel as if I am to serve here, not anywhere else.
I'm not saying going to other countries is bad because we truly need that. I am saying that think of one person or two that need a healing hand of God in their life. Pray for them, minister to them, love on them, and offer all you have. I am learning to just serve the Lord and take chances.
Never in my life have I ever been this open about my faith or in God. I encourage you to embrace the love that you feel in your heart. Let it be the fire inside of you that fuels you to keep going on a daily basis. How can you serve on a daily basis?

Rejoicing In Our Suffering

Lately my life has been consumed with suffering. It has caused me to become weary. Even though I am weary, I am able to stand firm on that Lord's foundation.
If we never went through trials, how would we ever grow close to the Lord?People who don't have a relationship with Christ strive to see if our faith is real, and sometimes that means being tested in every which way. Going through hard times proves if your faith is real or not.
Through this season is dry, I have learned that I cannot depend on the ways of this world to make me happy. I have experienced all the highs and rushes in my past and none satisfy like Jesus. But what does that mean to say that those things don't satisfy? It means that they do not last. They feel good in the moment but they fade away. What do you do when that moment is over? You crave and look for more.
Jesus doesn't say we are going to be happy and satisfied all the time. That is part of following Christ. It is one of the hardest things but one of the best things I could have ever done. He is all I have to cling to because people fail me and hurt me. When they hurt me, who do I run to? Do I run to food, self-harm, drugs, alcohol, sex? No, I run to my Heavenly Father who I call home. He calls all who are weary to come to him and they will find rest! He holds your purpose, your destiny.
We need to be rejoicing through the sufferings we face because through that will come a greater plan. Where you can stand up and give an amazing testimony how God can save a life. Don't sit in silence anymore. Pick up your Cross and follow the Lord into battle. He will forever satisfy your soul.
